Thanks for this enlightening newsletter! I read Thucydides' book some 20 years ago, definitely worth a re-read. The bigger-than-life characters in it leave a long lasting impression: Pericles, Brasidas, Alcibiades, Nicias... and explain why Athens (and Ancient Greece in general) were the pinnacles of civilization at the time.
